The past presidents of the Association recently met with the President in Abuja. 
The meeting discussed challenges and issues in the oil and gas sector as well as ways to build Union power in the present economic situation. 
Past Presidents present at the meeting were Comrade Shina Luwoye, Comrade Gani Owodunni, Comrade Austine Ezenwaka, Comrade Babatunde Ogun, Comrade Brown Ogbeifun, and Comrade Peter Esele.
